Happy Birthday to ME!

I had such a fabulous March! I turned 32 the 6th of this month and did plenty to celebrate.
My family and I (minus Ethan who got to play with Grandma F, plus Trent - Alli's boyfriend)
all went to Medieval Times to celebrate. We had so much fun - laughing and cheering on the Green
knight. I was horse (pun intended) by the end of the night from all the yelling. And you'll be
happy to know the greater Schaumburg area was once again rescued from the hands of evil.

Thursday after my birthday, my best friend Jeri B. Stein flew in from Portland to meet Ethan and spend the weekend. It was so great to see her and reconnect!! I realized again that there is something irreplaceable about face to face contact - something I just don't get over the phone. We did a ton of stuff, including seeing the
Blue Man Group downtown. It was great to get out and spend some time together and I was VERY sad to see her go. Good thing we already have another get together in the works or I would have been a total mess at the airport :)

Happy Birthday to Ethan!!

My big boy turned three months old on the 19th of March! And what a big month it was. Ethan is now 27 inches long and weighs 15.5 pounds. For those of you keeping track, he's gaining an inch and a half and a pound and a half a month. Holy cow! At this rate, he'll be 6 feet tall before his third birthday! Hopefully he will slow down before then – I don’t think they sell car seats that big. He is a total drool-machine and I would be a fool to go anywhere without a rag for spit. He’s making all sorts of cute sounds and has
quite
a voice on him. He has started laughing - it's this darling little hiccup-like sound that is just hilarious and gives me the giggles. He has also started reaching for and grabbing at things. Everything pretty much goes straight into his mouth from there. The biggest news is that he has already started rolling over! I thought that it was a fluke occurrence but he has done it on three separate occasions so I say it’s official. It’s so neat to see him grow and change. I feel very lucky to have a healthy boy with such a playful spirit.

Other stuff...

I have finally lost all the weight from pregnancy and have started in on the weight I always wanted to loose and never did anything about. I am walking three days a week – mostly at the mall but sometimes outside when the weather permits it. We are still going to play class on Fridays and are really enjoying that. It is fun to see the kids that have been with us since the beginning getting older and learning new stuff. And the new classmates are SO little – I am not sure Ethan was ever that small.
The big news for me this month was that I started back to work on February 25th. Don’t tell my boss, but I was totally dreading going back! But luckily (and surprisingly) I am really enjoying being at work again. It feels really good to have Mondays and Tuesdays to stretch my mind and do something completely different from the rest of the week. Plus, I have the best work situation possible. Grandma is taking care of Ethan here at the house (you're the best, Grandma!) which means that I can sneak downstairs if I need a quick fix. It also means that I can still breastfeed which is very important to me. It took a little adjusting for all three of us, but it is working out very well. Hooray!
